Should mountaineers stay low??
An article in the New York Times online edition for today Sunday 7 JuneĀ (actually it looks like it was first published October 20 2008!) reports on a study in the European Journal of Neurology that high altitude activities cause brain damage. The key, though, seems to be the frequency of high altitude exposure. The study seems to focus on long experienced professional high altitude climbers. Can’t imagine any of them would trade their experience and their lifestyle for a slightly higher IQ score though
